This entire vessel was carved and engraved using only our 1915 Rose Engine. The sidewall of the cap was incised with a finely cut ornamental grip while the body was carved with a bold and repeating Batwing pattern that recalls the work of M.C. Escher.
Next we cut a pocket into the top of the cap to receive an amazing and translucent Banded Agate buff top gemstone from Botswana. The Rose Engine served again to engrave a fine line pattern on the floor of the pocket that enlivens the subtly changing and sleepy Agate from behind.
Finally we applied a stunning .87 carat white Rose Cut Diamond to the top of the Agate dome. It's expertly set into one of our signature 18K gold bezels --and appears to hover over the engraving visible below it.
