Our Astral Vessels are made from modern aircraft-grade aluminum that we carve, engrave and ornament using a variety of metalworking techniques, from ancient to modern. Our designs will sparkle like new for years thanks to the anodizing that illuminates, colors and hardens the surfaces, shielding the vessel from corrosion, abrasion and light impact.

Treating your vessels with care and taking simple precautions can go a long way toward preserving their beauty and function. The pouch and packaging included with your vessel offer significant protection during
transportation or storage.

To prevent damage to non-metal components from thermal expansion and contraction, ALWAYS STORE YOUR ASTRAL VESSEL AT ROOM TEMPERATURE.

Gemstones, Gemstone Bezel Settings & Wood Surfaces

Vessels containing gemstones, gemstone bezel settings, and/or wood should be wiped clean only - never immerse in liquid of any kind.

CLEAN these sensitive materials by carefully wiping them with a clean, dry, soft cloth such as cotton flannel or use an untreated jeweler’s polishing cloth such as SELVYT®.

Only if required, dampen the cloth with a mild solution of dish detergent (~1 drop per qt. of water) and wipe the parts again. The surfaces should only be moistened, not fully wet. Then rinse the cloth in clean water and repeat to remove any remaining dirt or soap residue. Dry promptly to prevent water marks.

Aluminum, Gold, Platinum, Stainless Damascus Steel & Titanium

While these metals are all highly durable and broadly resistant to corrosion, they are susceptible to scratches. They can also be discolored or otherwise damaged by strong chemicals including household cleaners containing ammonia or lye, by iodine, and by acidic masonry cleaners.

CLEAN these metals with a soft cloth or toothbrush dampened with a mild solution of dish detergent. Rinse out the cloth/brush with fresh water and wipe everything down again, then dry the metal to prevent water marks. You can also spot clean any of these metals using a paper towel moistened with 70% - 90% Rubbing Alcohol. Follow up by lightly buffing the area with clean cotton flannel or a jeweler’s polishing cloth.

Sterling Silver

Silver is one of our favorite metals for decorative designs. It is generally easy to maintain but heavy tarnish can be challenging to remove if it is allowed to build up, so prevention is the best medicine.

PREVENT TARNISH: Tarnishing is accelerated by the sulfur found in finger prints, perspiration, lotions, perfumes, household cleaners, chlorinated water, and rubber. These hazards and other residues can cause tarnish to buildup for as long as they remain on the silver, so it’s best to wipe them down with a clean, soft cloth after handling. This easy step will keep your silver clean and sparkling!

CLEAN Silver with a very soft cloth or toothbrush dampened with a mild solution of dish detergent. Rinse out the cloth/brush with fresh water and wipe everything down again, then dry the metal to prevent water marks.
